Special Conditions:

Supply of accommodation for ICT staff in Cape Town.

Bidders may provide refurbishment plans to accommodate criteria as stipulated.

Cleaning services to be priced separately.

Note that any deposit needs to be held in an approved trust account.


  •  Minimum Space 120 m2 - additional space up to 200 m2 if possible.
  • 12-14 staff need to be accommodated within 1 km of ForeTrust building, Foreshore, Cape Town or SAAO, Observatory, Cape Town
  • Lease available for 3 years. Contract for 2 years with 1 year extension possibility.
  • Security for staff during and after work hours (Personal safety in and around office must be such that staff are comfortable working alone outside normal working office hours)
  • Security arrangements should include as a minimum
  • Access control at the entrance to the building.
  •  Alarm system for the building and/ or individual office suites.
  • Well maintained (shared) toilets
  • Climate Control Available
  • Minimum of 10 distributed 220V plug points
  •  Kitchen -Minimum requirements are
  •  Room for a small fridge
  • Washbasin with hot and cold water and countertop that can hold a microwave oven.
  •  Power sockets for fridge and microwave oven.
  •  Storage for cutlery and crockery.
  •  Connectivity Requirements: preferences
  • SANREN (South African Research and Education Network) on site or close by OR
  •  Fibre access
  • Safe parking - between 4 and 10 spaces.
  • Non-shared toilet if possible NRF/SAEON/ICTAC/2017 Page 18 of 48 Initials:
  •  Close to public transport
  • Adequate lighting, natural lighting preferred
  • Meeting Room: 1 room of minimum 10 m2, two rooms preferred.
  •  Cleaning Service - minimum requirements:
  •  Vacuum, dust, and wipe surfaces once a week.
  • Clean kitchen once a day. Washing up not included.
  • If shared toilets: cleaned once a day.
  • Exclusive use toilets: cleaned once a day.
