T 1.1    INVITATION TO TENDER FOR SUB CONTRACT FOR THE REPAIRS OF THE ELECTRICAL AND STREET LIGHTING INSTALLATION AT UMGENI INTERCHANGE ON NATIONAL ROUTE 2, SECTION 25

CONTRACTOR: PENNY FARTHING ENG SA (Pty) Ltd were appointed by the South African National Roads Agency SOC Ltd (SANRAL) for the ROUTINE ROAD MAINTENANCE OF NATIONAL ROUTE 2, SECTION 23 TO 26: HIBBERDENE TO EMDLOTI AND NATIONAL ROUTE 3 SECTION 1 TO 4:  DURBAN TO CEDARA.

This project is in the eThekwini Municipality District in the province of Kwazulu-Natal. The approximate duration is 10 months.

Subcontractors are hereby invited for the repairs of the street lighting installation at Umgeni Interchange on National Route 2, Section 25 as a Subcontract under Penny Farthing Engineering (Pty) Ltd. This project is in the eThekwini Municipality in the province of Kwazulu-Natal. The approximate duration is 10 months.

Only tenderers who are registered on the National Treasury Central Suppliers Database (CSD) and are Tax Compliant are eligible to tender

Only tenderers with a B-BBEE contributor status level of 1, 2, 3 or 4 are eligible to tender.

Tenderers should have a CIDB contractor grading designation of 5EP or higher, however tenderers attention is drawn to clause 4.1.1 of the Tender Data when submitting their tender.

Tenders from tenderers registered as potentially emerging enterprises but with a CIDB contractor grading designation lower than a contractor grading designation determined in accordance with the sum tendered, or a value determined in accordance with Regulation 25(1B) or 25(7A) of the Construction Industry Development Regulations, will not be accepted.

Only locally produced or locally manufactured products and components for construction with a stipulated minimum threshold for local content and production as stated in the Tender Data will be considered.

Tenderers are to note that all security sub-contracting services to be awarded to companies which are at least 51% owned by black people who are Military Veterans.

Tender documents may be collected from 08 January 2019 during the business hours 09:00 to 16:00 (Monday to Thursday) and 09:00 to 15:00 on Friday.

TENDERERS’ MEETING

A compulsory tender clarification meeting will take place at M19 Shell Garage (Bottom of M19 – 900 Clare Road, Recreation, Durban, 4090) on          17 January 2019 starting at 10H00.

Tenders from late arrivals will not be allowed and their submissions shall be declared non-responsive.

The closing time for receipt of tenders is 14:00 on 7 February 2019.
