The Public Investment Corporation (PIC) acting on behalf of Government Employees Pension Fund hereby extends an invitation to construction companies with CIDB level grading of 8GB and having the necessary expertise to execute all work necessary for alteration and additions to the PRD building, to tender. The compliance scope of work entails electrical, mechanical work and minor building works to Tower Building and Parking Garage.

Bidders are to meet the following three minimum requirements to qualify:

  • Bidder must have 51% Black Ownership
  • Bidder must have BEE Level 1 to 4
  • Bidders must submit a Signed valid Generic BBBEE certificate, failure to submit will lead to automatic disqualification

Companies that are forming a Joint venture must submit ALL particulars of Joint Ventures with their proposals

The PIC is open to consider bidders that form or already have an existing Joint Venture agreement in place to achieve a Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment Status Level. For Joint Ventures the following additional information will be required:

  • Consolidated Generic BEE Certificates
  • Ownership and Executive Management information
  • A formal signed JV Agreement, indicating the leading company as well as the other company’s role and responsibilities.

Closing date for submission of tenders: 14 June 2018 at exactly 12H00. (Standard South African Time obtainable by dialling 1026.)

A compulsory pre-tender site inspection will be held at PRD Building in Mthatha, at the front of the main entrance at 10H00 on Monday 21 May 2018 from where they will be led to the site. Late arrival, from 11H01 (Standard South African Time obtainable by dialling 1026) onward or failure to attend will result in disqualification.

Late submissions or submissions handed in at any other office than is listed below, will not be accepted.

Tender document will be available on the pic website on www.pic.gov.za from Monday the 14th May 2018.

Telegraphic, telexed or faxed tenders will not be considered. The lowest or any tenders need not necessarily be accepted and this project may not be awarded to the most favourable Tenderer. The validity period will be 150 days.
